GOALS:
1. 5 % above district average

2. team notebook/articles (#, presentations?)

3. positive communication (%, track ethnicity?)
I love the notebook/articles idea because it's within our control. I'm not against the test idea, though. Our students here at Gridley just aren't what they used to be.
4. Since it seems we will be doing articles, how about a few articles on the Common Core Standards to inform everyone what's coming soon. Instead of presentations, why don't we tell the staff how we as a team will plan to implement ideas that we have read about in our articles?

On a personal level, I would like to do the positive communication, but I'm very okay with either of the other choices. I think we are still safe with 5% above the district average in math for several more years. I'm also interested in learning more about the Common Core Standards. I think it was in 1993 that I did a professional development (in London-got my hair cut at this really neat place while I was there), and they asked us if we had ever seen the L.Arts standards. We all said "no", and they told us that was because we were going to be the first to work on them. I was in way over my head since I'd never seen a standard for anything at that time.

My vote is for the notebook- teams can share responsibility of taking notes at team meetings, conferences, dept and staff meetings. We can have a team per month ( or TWO teams per month) share articles about teaming/teaching strategies/core standards etc.. and explain what they plan to do or how they can incorporate it.
